Carson - LIVE

Of course, everyone knows that babies grow and change so quickly... well, we're trying to catch those moments and savor them. So, we decided to let the man speak for himself, he's got alot to say, sometimes. Watching him discover himself and everything around him is awesome.

Year of Firsts

Of course, everyone that has kids can resonate with this thought... "Oh, it's his first (fill in the blank)...". So, that's what we're up to these days:). Carson is doing great, he is 14 weeks this week - seems impossible. He's growing and changing continually. I have to reminded once in a while that this is our child, we are parents; it all seems quite surreal still. He is doing a great job at "trying" to hold his head up, it's still a bit heavy for him.
Stacey and I are doing well - thanks to mom and dad Gordon we've beenable to get out on a few dates already. We often talk about keeping our relationship fresh even though our lives have changed with the arrival of the boy. We're loving being parents and experiencing this new chapter together.
Ok, here's my music recommendation for this time. By the way, for those of you who may not know me quite as well, I enjoy a wide variety of music; but I'm a big fan of the christian music scene, especially because it has gained some amazing artists in the last few years. I got this album in September, these guys are Shane and Shane, and the album is called Pages. These guys have deep and rich lyrics, awesome harmonies and a mellow/inspiring sound.

Autumnity.

Well, time flies when you're having fun, hence the the amount of time its taken to post more for all to see. Carson is doing great - getting huge. He will be 12 weeks on Wednesday the 31st, and he is fitting in 3 - 6 months clothes. He makes us laugh and smile every day.

We are enjoying our mild Fall in Buffalo. Busy with life, work, church, and friends and fam, but trying to make the most of each day! Well, I've decided to include in this blog my recommendation of music, each time I post something. Not that any of you actually care - but music is a huge part of my life, so I feel led to share:). This time, I was just introduced to a newer worship band... who have inspired me in the last couple weeks, they are called "Fee" - http://www.myspace.com/stevefee

All getting older

Today is the last day of the summer. That means that Carson is a bit over 6 weeks old, Stacey just turned 27 and I am still 25, for a few days:). Carson has been changing every single day, it seems. Losing his hair from front to back, starting to "talk", and entertain himself with his flailing arms are a few things that we've been enjoying watch happen with our little friend. Life in general is about the same, although, everything is a bit different with a baby. We look forward each day to watch God's continuous plans unfold for us. As most of you know, my passion has become music, in the last couple of years; between leading music at our church and writing some of my own - I'm excited to see how God will choose to use me. Although this is has never been my ultimate goal, I have been encouraged to look into recording the songs that I have written, which is a new venture... In all of this, you can please pray that God would show us the path that He would want us to take - and that we might have eyes to see the doors that will open before us. My dad once said (dad, you probably don't exactly remember this) - My paraphrase: You are the most fulfilled and happy when you've followed God's leading in your life. I guess that means that you have to first listen and have Faith! Stacey is a natural at being a mom (nice transition, huh?). Even though we have now known each other for 6 years, it was hard for me to imagine her as a mother. To literally spend 24 hours a day with an infant is something, but to watch her love and care for Carson over and over again ,in the way that she does, has impressed me. This new chapter in our lives is such an exciting one. Ok, this resembles something more like a e-mail - so we shall now come to a close. Hope to talk to you all soon.

1 whole month old!

Our baby boy has been with us for exactly one month, 4 weeks that is. He's enjoying alot of first time stuff - like walks and baths and meeting all kinds of people. He's starting to make little goo ga'ing noises:). We're having an awesome time figuring him out and getting to know him.

Carson Cole Vermilyea

Wednesday morning at 2 am is when it all started. Stacey was feeling contractions very early that day, so we knew that something was happening. After wating things out a bit, we went in to the hospital around noon, and by then things were pretty far along. After some hard work, great persistence and determination, we met our son Carson at 4:20 pm that same day. As you can see, he's the cutest boy... ever. More to come, but for now here's a bunch of pics.

So so Much

Life - going by at 100 miles an hour, and here we are only appprox. 5 weeks or less away from the babe's coming.
Last night was our first baby shower. The girls were communicating with the baby by way of morse code (not really). Other than that, we've been quite busy getting the house and and such ready for him also. We repainted the living room and we are still in the process of painting the nursery this weekend, here's the living room.
Our church softball team has been an exciting addition to our summer.
This is the "wound" that I inflicted to myself a few weeks ago. I dove to home plate; and yet we still lost that game.

Time with friends and family is always a big part of our lives... one of our friends referred to hot tubs as human soup, hmm.
We hope that all of you, wherever you are, are having a great summer.

Rewind

I came across this picture - It was taken during our first unofficial date. One sunny October afternoon in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, we enjoyed the grass, among other things, it was our junior year at BBC. That same evening I went to the church that Stacey was attending at the time, and I, so attractively, dozed off during the service... And here we are almost 6 years later; approximately 9 months from the birth of a baby BOY. wow.

'been a While

Apologies- life gets crazy, and then you don't get to update your blog:). Well, Stacey just entered her 3rd trimester, so we have less than 3 months to go.
We cleared out our office, which is going to the baby's home. We'll keep you up to date on the progress that we make on the room.
My cousin Katie got married this past weekend and we had a good old time on the... oh yes, dance floor, even the pregnant one.

We always make the most of our time with the fam, whether in Buffalo, Quebec, Toledo, and the Southern states, by the way, if we haven't seen you in a while, we miss you.

We're having a great time at church, as we watch it grow and see God working in so many peoples' lives. I (Ben) am playing in our softball team - pics are on the way.

Well, once again we hope you all are doing great! We hope to see each and every one of you soon Bye for now

IT'S A...

...Boy - just in case :). We are extremely happy. We had the sonogram yesterday, and everything looks great. It was awesome to see the baby up close and personal. When the nurse told us the news, Stacey asked "Are you sure?" - to which the nurse answered "the only other person that could be more sure than me is Jesus Christ, Himself".

Stacey's doing great, she's been showing more and more each week. Everythihng is seeming more and more real every day, but still it's crazy to think that that kid is ours!

Well this last picture is really of our little man - he just wants peace!

More activity

As you can expect... we've been very excited to track the growth of the little one, but in these next few clips - he or she does not look so little anymore:).
All Legs

We think the baby is sucking on its thumb and then hiccups on this one

And finally, this is our favorite, keep an eye on the hand

Belli-ness

Well, today is the beginning of week 16!! For the record, it's a good thing that Stace is finally showing a bit - cuz she's been a bit too easy to live with for being "Enpregnated". No nausia, no moodiness (I thank my God every day...), just a bit sleepy at times.

Everyone once in a while, I try to talk to the baby, and hope to carry on a conversation, so I talk and then listen... :

For those of you who may not know quite as much about what we've been up to lately, here you go! Basically, work - church - people. Summed up in three words, but we are especially passionate about our church... And you may check our church's interim website (as we work on a more sophisticated one), to see a bit more about what goes on there and such: www.centerpointecc.blogspot.com . Many exciting things are happening there lately, growth of many kinds. And Stacey and I still love each other.

Growth

We are fortunate that Stacey works at a cardoilogist's office and therefore is able to use the ecocardiogram to "watch" the baby from time to time. She is 13 weeks along this week, and we got some shots of the babe in action. Stacey's showing a bit, she's been wearing most of my pants lately, actually. Just kidding! Hope everyone out there is doing well. Other than baby-news, things here are good. I think it has snowed for about 10 days straight, fun times. We're busy with work and church stuff, but it is all going well. There's 3 other girls having babies, in our little church between now and the time that we're due. Hope to talk to ya'll soon. By the way, we think the baby was stretching, hiccuping, and just hanging out in the clips.

Family...

As we wait for more developments with el baby, we thought we'd share some footage of our parents' reaction to THE news. We told both families one day apart just a couple days before C-mas. We had them pegged though, we know 'em well enough to expect what you're about to see. By the way, we are going to hear the baby's heartbeat this Thursday, we're excited about that!
